My new project is taking some more realistic shape! I’m really looking forward to take some of my climbing friends to the Tatra Mountains…
The first rock climbing trip of the season. This time we visited the far end of Stanage and Dovestone Tor. I “ticked off” another route from the Rockfax’s top-50 list. The “Great Buttress” (HVS, 5a) was definitely an interesting climb. Great company helped to make it a cracking weekend in the Peaks. Thanks a lot Kat! Continue reading “PEAK DISTRICT 8-9.04.2017”
It was great to see quite a few of my climbing friends at the Alpine Club in London yesterday. This was my first ever lecture about climbing, I hope everyone enjoyed listening…
This was my second visit to this “ice climbing Mekka”. I had a great time with my old friend Efe Tunc. We had few days of skiing and ice climbing. This time, the highlight of the trip was the impressive, 7-pitch “Fabrikkfossen” (WI3). I was really pleased that Efe eventually recovered from his injuries. The Alpine Clubs meet in Romania was excellent – beautiful and not so well known mountains, perfect weather and great company. I managed to climb several short ice routes, 2-day alpine-style ascent on Negoiu (2535 m a.s.l.) and interesting 3-pitch mixed route on Geamul Sudic peak. On Tuesday, the 28th February 2017 I’m giving a lecture about my last expedition to Cordillera Blanca, Peru. I’ll be talking about mountains, weather and retreating glaciers. It starts at 19.30 and everyone will be welcome!

I made it to the front cover of the “Calanques et Montagnes” (newsletter of the Club Alpin Francais Marseille Provence)! Thanks a lot to my climbing partner and photographer Remi Songeon.
An article about our 2015 expedition to the Cordillera Real appeared in American Alpine Journal!
